This is a 10 week film done at SCAD for Animation 190! This was created by me, Kat Jackson. I was inspired to create this film by my childhood growing up with an addict. I wanted to portray people dealing with addiction as people, and not unfeeling monsters. This course required that the film be at max 1 minute long, and have both a 2D and 3D section of animation. I had a 10 day window to completely finish the 2D animated section for this video, as well as a 10 day window to finish the 3D section. It was a crazy break neck schedule, and I managed to finish both parts on time. The main character's name is Olionder. Get it. oLIONder. I'm clever. haha. Please share this if you enjoyed it. I THINK I FINALLY UNDERSTAND. AFTER ABOUT 700 LOOPS (jk I just realized after watching it twice about 15 hours ago), HERE IS MY THEORY. MY plot: So, he's slowly dying of overdosing and alcoholism, and he (or she, them, etc. I'm just going with he) is trying to recover his past before it's too late. In the beginning, it's a heaven-like phase and/or dream he's in, and he bumps into his old, younger self. He's happy to see his past, but things turn south when it's actually the memory of a trauma (look at the old presence in the beginning, then in the next scene, and notice scars on both past and present self). The trauma leads him to start taking drugs to 'relieve' his pain and suffering. So, present man lion tiger dog cat thing tries to stop his past self from taking unnecessary drugs. But suddenly, all goes black, meaning it's too late. He's dead. BUT HEY! It's just a theory. A GAM-- * coughs * A LUKE THEORY!!!!!!!! Author's Note (yeah, I had too. I just wrote a friggin' essay.): This really spoke to me, and made me think about all the stress I have as a child (like the past form of that guy's self). I never really thought of overdosing of alcoholism, but one day it may've crossed my mind (also your videos relieve my stress XD). Thanks, that one weird kid named Luke.

1 year since this vid came out

When the music starts to repeat itself, that’s how I feel whenever anything happens. I don’t know if it has anything to do with mental illness, but every time someone repeats a word, it repeats in my head until I go crazy. And then it causes me to get violent. Like I’ll hit my thigh or my arm or tap my finger continuously until I get tired. Whenever my teacher would repeat the word “excellent” over and over again it gets me also really violent, not to the point where I hit myself or someone else because I don’t know how to handle my emotions when I’m mad, but it triggers me a lot. I just wanted to open up and say that tho it has nothing to do with the video topic. The video overall had a great message and I really liked the animation. I shared the whole mental crap cause I wanted to know if that had a name or if anyone else has that. Hope you have a great day. Drink some water.

This really hits close to home for me. Me brother has been smoking weed, drinking and smoking in general for 3 years, and he’s 17. This really gives me the feels because it’s true, the person who is doing these things aren’t monsters. They are people. My brother has autism and his head gets too much for him sometimes, that’s why he does so. Of course I don’t want him to do these things, the opposite, but I still love him. And I would do anything to see him happy again. thank you

This really hits hard, I mean, I don't have a very bad problem with addiction, it's getting better for me to stop, but my mother is addicted to smoking (thank God it isn't anything worse) and so is my dad, pretty much the whole family besides my brother and sister, my addiction on the other hand itsnt cigarettes, it's more like Pills and all that, I think that's why my grandfather is afraid to take me to any docter, I think he's afraid they will give me some pill and I will become addicted agian So yea for my family and me, addiction kinda runs in the family...idk
